Yoga & Service Retreat - East Africa

When: March 16th - 23rd (or 26th), 2017
Where: Entusi Retreat, Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda

Seva, the Sanskrit word for service, is a part of the tradition of karma yoga. There are many ways on the path to enlightenment, and learning to let go of the ego and give of yourself without any agenda or hope for personal gain is one.

On this Yoga and Service Retreat, participants will practice karma yoga as they volunteer in the service projects of the Paper Fig Foundation and Global Livingston Institute in Uganda. Each day will begin with a yoga asana practice based on listening, absorbing, and acting from a place of compassion. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to explore the beauty of the vast savannah, and majestic wildlife of Africa.

Join hosts Emily Weitz and Laurie DeJong on this life-changing karma yoga experience. All levels are welcome.

Laurie DeJong is CEO of LDJ Productions and founder of The Paper Fig Foundation. Her passion for business combined with her longtime mentorship of women lead to the establishment of PFF. Through a variety of diverse programs, the foundation supports sustainable community development projects and empowerment programs in East Africa.

Emily Weitz is a yoga teacher educated in the Anusara style who has been teaching in the Hamptons and New York City since completing her training in 2008. She is also a lifelong traveler and loves applying the principles of yoga to the life lessons acquired on the road. For more information, please fallout the form below.
